MTTA Regular Meeting Minutes November 15th 2011
1) Treasurers Report
2) Discussion of meeting with Rusty James from incident management of MO DOT. There was a question regarding Motorist assist trucks pulling vehicles out of ditches. It was the Position of the MTTA and all other towers ath the meeting that the MO DOT should not be pulling cars out. Rusty also agreed us and conveyed that info to the MO DOT.
3) Rusty from TIM of MODOT also notified us there will be a training on the new cross over cables along the highways in Cass County. Date TBD.
4) The Christmas Party for the MTTA is Wednesday December 7th @ 7:00pm at the Golden OX. Please give Tom an email of how many will be coming with you by December 2nd.
5)New Members in attendance were Dennis and Aaron from Butler Tow Butler MO.
6) Reminder of the Baltimore tow show weekend of November 19th and 20th.
7) Jared (president of MTTA) Reported that he went to the Kansas Motor Carrier Association meeting Last week. KMCA is what the Kansas towers use for their association. Jared is going to communicate with them due to our close stateline of the local KC towers Some laws in Missouri are different in Kansas regarding towing and it could be some legislation changes in the future to help towers.
8) Jared is planning an upcoming meeting presentation from Insurance Industry. Tow Law by Nick Porto. Truck Manufacturer changes. and an accountant.
Just a note in this discussion our new members attending learned one bit of information that could save there company THOUSANDS of dollars there 1st year as members. These presentations from the Different industries are very valuable and just 1 more reason to be a MTTA Member.
9)Jared got a report on the update of the Bylaws from Dave Bridgman. No action was taken.
10) KCMO is going to introduce new laws regarding the tow contract and then move forward with the new tow regulations.
11) Jared discussed out lobbyist and would like to put a performance base in our contract.
